Jamie
Hanna, the only African American female cop in her precinct, always has
her
work cut out for her on the job. Up against prejudice for female cops
and an
African American one at that, Jamie has always had to fight to stay
one-step
ahead of the rest. Now, more so than ever…
When
her partner is killed in a drug bust gone wrong, Jamie is the only
survivor and
is indicted in his murder. Shot more
than once herself, Jamie isn’t even out of the hospital yet and the
media is
labeling her as a dirty cop. Not one to take the deformation of
character
lightly, the moment she is released from the hospital, Jamie heads to
the
office of newspaper editor, Dan Janson to give him a piece of her mind.
Unfortunately, Dan not only stirs anger within her, but feelings she
knows
would be best ignored…
Fair
haired and blue-eyed Dan Janson has had a secret lust for Jamie Hanna
for a long
time. Dan has a hard time believing
Jamie is a dirty cop on the take, but the facts and the evidence speak
for
themselves. But still, Dan wonders over
the authenticity of his reporter’s sources and is determined to uncover
the
real Jamie Hanna and hopefully prove her innocence and keep her close.
Jamie
and Dan realize that they have to work together to catch a killer who
is
hell-bent on ruining Jamie’s career and even ending her life. In the process, can they both learn about A Thing Called Love?
I
think A Thing Called Love is
Marilyn Lee’s best contemporary romance, which is intense with suspense
and
drama, to date. Ms. Lee pens a
suspenseful tale of two volatile and fiercely independent characters
that
explode off the pages. The sexual tension is thick and doesn’t
overshadow the
quest to track down a killer, but adds a heat and fire that won’t let
you stop
reading. Enriched characters and strength within both of them connect
with a
reader, drawing one in and making them care about each of them.
Ms.
Lee pens a powerful and sexy tale that simply satisfies. For suspense,
passion
and real feelings, pick up A Thing
Called Love by Marilyn Lee…she might just teach you a thing or
two
about romance, sensual connections and to always look beyond the
surface before
making a judgment.
