Suave
gentleman and former privateer, Raife exists in the darkness with his
roguish
ways and convictions he has always carried. His dedication to destroy
Eve, the
vampire who created him, is always forefront in his mind. But when he
hears a sultry,
seductive voice calling him, he finds himself under a magical spell
that wreaks
havoc on his control.
Who is this
woman who shows Raife a sensual heaven that he has never known before? Is he friend or foe, witch or the lifemate
he’s been searching for?
Book four
in the Descendants of Darkness
series, Raife, is another
testament in the LaCroix vampire dynasty that has become addictive. I
fell for Lucius (book two) the hardest,
yet Raife has always called to me as well. I think Raife is the most
sensual of
men. His charm, his roguish ways are purely sinful, sweet and he is
still an
adventurer at heart who captures his reader’s heart. The combustible
chemistry
between Raife and Yvette is powerful and intense. The drama of Eve, the
evil
vampire who created Raife, sifts intensity of another dangerous kind
into the
story and it can be felt even when Eve isn’t present in a scene.
Ms. LaCroix
has done an amazing job with all her vampires, and Raife
is a definite winner.
Reading Raife after his predecessor’s in this
series, and their
appearances in Raife’s story was like reading about old friends. The Descendants of Darkness are like old
friends to their readers who can’t get enough of them.
With heat, powerful characters and a
charismatic world, Raife and
the other stories are ones that are keepers to be enjoyed again and
again.
