Social
worker, Mara Quinn never thought her life would become one like those
she
counsels. Running from her now
ex-boyfriend
Ross, Mara runs with nothing but bruises. Planning to hide away, Mara
flees to
a small vacation resort to be alone. But Mara never counted on a
vacationing
FBI Agent, J.T. Dalton to notice her right away and the bruises she
carries. Mara tries to avoid J.T. at all
costs, but he
always seems to be there whenever she turns around.
Mara isn’t sure whether she can really come
to trust J.T., not only because he is a man, but also because he is a
man with
much authority. Just like Ross, the man
she is running from…
J.T.
Dalton has always had a weakness for a damsel in distress.
When he notices a woman, who makes it obvious
to the trained eye as trying to hide, he finds himself angered that
anyone
could harm her. Ready to fight any battle for Mara, J.T. quickly
realizes he’s
battling his heart as well as they spend more and more time together,
and their
passion for each other smolders…
Kay
Wilde is an author who never lets her readers down and with Independence
Day, it’s no
exception to her already long list of hits.
The fear, confusion, shame and loss that Mara feels
is depicted with a
sure hand and confidence of this author.
The most horrific abuse is that against another
human being and Ms.
Wilde tells the story realistically and shows that even after suffering
at the
hand of another, time does heal the wounds and a real love can one day
be
found.
Ms.
Wilde takes the tragedy and sadness of a shattered woman’s faith and
heart and
creates a story of tenderness, self-discovery and love. It is this sort
of
ability that makes Kay Wilde an amazing author. She always gets to the
heart of
the matter, grasps it and makes it her own, which leaves a reader with a
rekindled feeling of love and hope when the story ends.
Mara is a woman who rises above tragedy and it
makes her stronger than ever once she has searched her heart and soul
and
looked to the future. J.T. is the epitome of men. His caring,
gentleness and
love for Mara will bring a reader to tears and hope that he can
convince Mara
that her future is in his arms.
Independence Day hits close to
home for
this reader, hits a homerun for Kay Wilde and is her best Tempting
Fate: Holiday Fantasies story
yet.
