Her name was Noisy Girl. An odd name sure, but when you were the only sound making being in your tribe, it seemed to fit. Noisy Girl had been adopted into a tribe of the White Fur People of the planet Denahault. She was human. Her birth parents had been tragically killed when she was a child and the White Fur People had raised her as one of their own. She’d grown up knowing she was different from the others of her tribe, but there was never an opportunity to find her past. For years there had been animosity the humans and Fur People, but recent events had changed that. With the newfound peace on her world, Noisy Girl decided to discover who and what she really was.
Ever since he was a young boy, Commander Jeff Anderson wanted nothing more than to be a starship captain, but when the opportunity came he’d requested time to consider the offer. His best friend and ex-captain, Trieka Cavendish was getting married. Not only did he want to get her opinion on the captainship, but he needed to make sure she was making the right decision in marring Harrison Fairfax. Jeff had carried a torch for Trieka since their military training, and even though it had never been lit, he wanted to be sure before he threw the torch out.
When Jeff arrived on Denahault for Trieka’s wedding, he expected her to greet him, only to find out she’d been called away. She returns with two White Fur women, but one isn’t White Fur, she’s human. He’s captivated by Noisy Girls innocence, her earthly beauty, and her eagerness to learn about her people. And for the first time in his life, he’s not so sure about his future. Should he pursue his dream of being a starship captain? Or give up his dreams for the quiet woman he loves?
EARTHCHILD is the fantastic sequel to Katriena Knight’s acclaimed STARCHILD. Ms. Knight has brought us back to her captivating world of Denahault. With the help of her wonderful prose, Ms. Knight once again throws two people of different worlds together to find love despite the boundaries. The imagery and emotions throughout the story bring the characters to life. I enjoyed the freshness of the story as well as the extra information regarding the previous books characters. Though it’s not necessary to read STARCHILD to understand EARTHCHILD, why would you want to miss out on both of these wonderful books?
