Maria can’t
believe that her best friend Quinn dragged her to a fortune-teller. The
woman
was a complete whack job and now she is out of seventy-five dollars for
hearing
a bunch of mumbo jumbo. To make matters worse, she then got wasted
before a
flight, and ended up having crazy, wild sex with the man seated next to
her. A
man wearing a kilt, of all things, a man who tells her that they are
meant to
be together because he has been dreaming of her for years. What else
could
happen? Her life is insane enough as it is, without adding all of this
madness
to it. She hasn’t been able to move on since her boyfriend died and
lately she
has been feeling a little lonely. Yet being lonely shouldn’t make her
question
whether Brad, the handsome stranger who can talk dirty with the best of
them,
is being truthful when he tells her that they belong together. Still though, she can’t forget how fabulous
the sex between them was, or the connection that they seem to share.
Should she
believe Brad when he keeps trying to convince her to believe in him,
and to
believe in them?
Brad can’t
believe his luck! The woman sitting next to him, Maria is the woman
that he has
been dreaming of for years. She is his life mate, his very drunk life
mate, at
the moment. That won’t deter him though, from claiming her for himself,
particularly when she comes on to him and won’t take no for an answer.
He has
no problem asserting himself with her sexually, in fact, she begs for
him to
talk dirty and take her. The problem that he is having with her, is
trying to
talk her into accepting the fact that they are meant to be together.
She
refuses to believe in him, or in them. What will it take to make her
see the
truth?
BELIEVE IN
US is a passionate tale with paranormal elements and a slight
supernatural air
to it. Maria and Brad are clearly linked by something, whether it is a
past
life or just sexual chemistry is the question. They have some wild,
passionate
sex and join the “Mile High Club” in the first few pages. That scene is
particularly memorable and humorous as well. Brad is a sexy, somewhat
old-fashioned character, making his debut in a kilt, and wearing it in
the
traditional sense, as well. Yes, that would be sans underwear, making
their air
adventures truly exciting. Maria is a cynic, who refuses to believe in
whimsy
or even romance after having lost a lover before. Brad won’t let her
ignore
their feelings, and I loved the way that he set his mind on having her,
and
followed through. His romantic nature and passion for her make the
story all
the more sweet and endearing. His ability to talk dirty at Maria’s
demand, as
well as his ever-present desire for her really heat up the pages. This
might be
a Quick Silver, but it is long on spice and heat.
