Inspirational Suspense

A SHIP POSSESSED by Alton Gansky

Retired Skipper J.D. Stanton is called out of his peaceful lifestyle to investigate the mysterious arrival of an American WWII submarine, The USS Triggerfish. Fifty years earlier this very submarine had vanished, disappeared. Leaving no trace. And, now she’s here, in San Diego, on the beach. But, it’s all wrong. She’s in pristine condition. She’s in the wrong ocean.
Stanton accepts the challenge of surveying her. With his crew he’ll try to figure out exactly how she vanished, where she went, where she’s been, and why is she now in California.

Before he even gets started in unraveling the mystery eerie noises sound from the belly of the sub. Could the crew survive these past fifty years? Stanton is not prepared to face what lurks in the vintage craft.

Alton Gansky is a terrific story-crafter. A Ship Possessed has the scare power of a Stephen King tale, yet, Gansky manages to tie the main character’s faith into the happenings, reminding the readers that no matter how bad things are, God is in control and He only wants the best for us. I immediately like J.D., and what’s not to like about old fashioned scare story – with a nice twist at the end?

I received all three Stanton books at the same time so I read them one after the other. A delicious treat. If you’re looking for a good mystery/military/suspense book, try the J.D. Stanton series. You won’t be disappointed (and if you are – the publisher will refund your money! There’s a sticker on the front of the book that says guaranteed read! Can’t beat that!)
