Lt. Matt
Nichols is at his professional wits end trying to uncover the arsonist
who is
setting fires in San Francisco
which have everyone baffled. What Matt
doesn’t need is Erica Johnson, a specialist investigator who sets his
blood on
fire, and knows her job quite well. Matt has no choice but to work with
Erica,
and never expects their relationship to become so personal. But when evidence begins pointing in the
direction of Erica’s family, will their future together turn to ashes?
Erica
Johnson has lived with the memory of her mother dying in a fire when
she was a
young girl all of her life. Making a
life of uncovering arsonists and solving the mysteries of fires, Erica
is an
expert in her field. When she comes up
against Lt. Matt Nichols, Erica faces the fire that smolders between
them,
something she’s never experienced before.
But there
are secrets that Erica holds from Matt and secrets her family keeps
from her.
Can Erica and Matt have a future together? Can they find the arsonist
before he
strikes again?
Lea Tassie
and Kathleen Webb are authors who I very much hope to read again. Ashes
is an amazing romantic suspense tale that had me on the edge of my seat
the
whole time! Matt and Erica shoot sparks
off one another and I couldn’t get enough of them.
These authors pack a lot of intrigue and
suspense into just over 220 pages, and I didn’t want it to end. The behind the scenes of fire investigations,
something I have always been fascinated with, are interesting and
researched
well by the authors.
Kathleen
Webb and Lea Tassie are authors whose writing was fresh and exciting. I
hope to
read them both again very soon. They
have both found their way onto my list of authors to watch out for. Ashes
is a keeper!
