Meridian
Hunter claims the
touch and possession of a strong, powerful male. What
had been formless fantasies have taken
on a touch of reality with the entrance of Marshall Wilder into her
life. He’s taken the starring role in her
well-rounded fantasy life. When her
secretary dares her to try out a personals site to live her fantasies,
she
never expected to meet the perfect master there.
Marshall
Wilder is a born dominant. He’s spent
time on the same website as Meridian’s now
visiting. Masquerading as Master
Nightshade, he begins leading Meridian down the
path into submission. He just never
anticipated what had begun as a lesson becoming an emotional
entanglement. Could he let her go when the
lessons were done?
While the
premise of Temporary
Slave
is intriguing, the book fails to deliver on the
premise. I found it difficult to follow
the story, as it was hard to separate Meridian and Marshall’s
fantasies and the book’s reality. For
this reviewer, the lack of definition and differentiation between the
fantasy
scenes and the real world made the book nearly impossible to follow. Perhaps there could have been some different
formatting done, maybe placing the fantasies in italics, which could
have set
those parts off from the reality of the book. Even the bondage scenes,
while
well described seemed lukewarm and somewhat forced.
There was little emotional connection between
the characters. This lack of emotion
carries through the whole novel, at times I felt like I was reading the
story
of someone’s fling, not a romance.
