ROGUE PRESIDENT by Audrey Godwin

Lorelei has been in love with Griff Nyle since she was a young girl. Griff, however, doesn’t feel the same way. He can’t stand anything about Lorelei, beginning with her fiery red hair. He has harbored a hatred for redheads nearly his entire life. This is one redhead that he can’t avoid though. He has to marry her, for his political career. Her father is sponsoring him running for the presidency, and Lorelei, being a southern Senator’s daughter, is the perfect candidate for the First Lady. Well, Griff might be forced to marry her, but he doesn’t have to love her. Being married will not make him faithful. He will continue to indulge his taste for women, whenever and wherever he wants. He could care less what Lorelei thinks….until his penchant for women gets him into trouble, and could quite possibly destroy the very marriage that he didn’t want, and the woman who stands behind him.

ROGUE PRESIDENT is a darkly erotic tale that deals with politics, sexual deception, suspense, and of course, love. Griff, by no coincidence resembles someone that held the political limelight in the United States for quite a few years. He has an addiction to illicit sex, women, and the darker side of life. Lorelei, on the other hand, is the portrait of the perfect wife. She stands behind Griff no matter what he does, even if his actions result in heartbreak for her. ROGUE PRESIDENT is a gripping read that is dark, intense, and erotic. Readers will hate Griff, while falling in love with him. His attempts at bettering himself, while falling prey to his own inner demons, touched a soft spot with me. I found myself torn between wanting to rescue him, and slapping him for being such an idiot. In spite of his idiocy, Griff is a completely likeable character that also has redeemable qualities.

Ms. Godwin does a remarkable job of writing a novel that centers on politics, and political scandals, and still incorporates romance and love.
