Simon
Frederick Cynster is revered within society. He is wealthy, his social
status
is indestructible and his good looks draw debutantes and ladies of the
night
equally. But for Simon, life isn’t the
happy one the outside world perceives it to be.
Simon is the last Cynster male of his generation to
find a bride and
settle down. When he begins to really
long for a woman to share his life, Simon quietly starts his search,
beginning
at a family gathering. He is surprised
when his ‘cousin’ by marriage, Portia Ashford, stirs his blood in ways
that
she, or anyone else never has.
Simon sets
into motion his plan to show Portia that marriage to him would be
everything
she could ever want. But when a murder
occurs and it seems that Portia will be the next victim, Simon begins
to
realize that his perfect love and his perfect bride, is the perfect
lady he has
waited a lifetime for.
The Perfect Lover by Stephanie Laurens is
one of my
favourites. For years I have watched Cynster men fall in love, all the
while
hoping to see more of Simon and to read his story.
In The
Perfect Lover I was granted every wish to see more of him and
watch as
he fell in love. This has to be the most
seductively sensual tale of Ms. Laurens to date.
Simon and
Portia are passionate; their embraces are heated and explicit. Portia learnt a lot at the hands of Simon
Cynster, showing his talents behind closed doors and makes a reader
fall in
love with him even more. While the suspense of a murderer on the loose
was
downplayed in my opinion, to Portia and Simon’s romance, The
Perfect Lover was a wonderful read and as we watch the
last Cynster born male fall in love, I was still curious at the end as
to what
more of this family we would see.
Stephanie
Laurens has created a powerful and compelling series with the Bar Cynster stories and shows alpha men whom
readers love and always want more of.
She delivered romance wonderfully in The
Perfect Lover.
