Mackenzie,
otherwise known as Mac, is a hit man. Not just your ordinary hit man
either – one,
she’s female and second, she’s really good at what she does. Right now
she’s
got an assignment that she has to take care of and then she’s out of
the
business for good. The game has gotten old to her, and she plans on
doing this
last hit, then heading for the sunshine and the sandy beaches of Bora Bora. Perhaps she made her plans a little
too early
though, because she didn’t factor Gabe into that equation. She’s always
done
her job, and done it well, she has always had a taste for the danger,
the
adrenaline rush, and the satisfaction that accompanies her success. Yet
now she
is finding herself in a complicated mess; she feels like something
isn’t right
with her last job and she is getting in over her head with Gabe.
Gabe is also
a hit man, but not quite the same as Mac. He hires out for half the
price and
he is what is known as a “cleaner”. He cleans up the traces, the messes
left
behind. His job is to get close to Mac, make sure she takes care of her
target,
then to kill her. That sounds like an easy enough plan, but he gets a
little
too close to her. From the moment he meets her, he likes her, and over
the
course of an evening where he acts as her escort, he finds himself more
attracted to her. How can he kill this fascinating woman that he wants
to kiss
and then take to bed? Killing her is the last thought on his mind. His
thoughts
are much more carnal, particularly where Mac is concerned. However, she
senses
that something is going on, and that she is being targeted. Will she
trust him
when he says that he wants to help her and not hurt her? Will he help
her stay
alive?
FOR THE
LOVE OF… is fantastic! Danger, suspense, drugs, murder, and a fiery
romance…what
more could readers want in a novel? Not to mention a sexy leading male
that
makes being involved with a hit man look good. Think John Cusack in
Grosse
Pointe Blank, but even sexier. Gabe is dead sexy, no pun intended. Mac
on the
other hand, is stubborn, adorable, and his perfect match. Two hit men
(one
being a woman) for hire, one on a mission to kill the other, who get
involved
and try to find a way out of the nightmare that they find themselves
in. It’s a
perfect plot, with twists, turns and plenty of turmoil. I loved it!!!
