Lee Saunders has a secret crush on her co-worker, Carter McCrea. For the past year, Lee and Carter have been best buddies, meeting for lunches and breaks at work. Carter has no idea how Lee really feels about him. When Carter calls Lee at home and asks her to come to his apartment, Lee is shocked. Carter has never called her at home and he’s practically engaged.
When Lee arrives, Carter tells her that his girlfriend Sylvia dumped him. Lee feels bad for Carter, but is ecstatic because maybe she has a chance with him. It doesn’t take her long to realize Carter’s been drinking, and she tries to talk to him, but when Carter begins a seduction, she can’t resist. Lee knows things need to slow down and she knows Carter is not over Sylvia, but she wants this man really bad.
DUPLICITY takes us through the developing relationship of Carter and Lee. They have many obstacles to over come; two of which are Carter’s big secret and as far as Sylvia is concerned, she’s not out of the picture...yet. In the prologue, Sylvia is talking with someone who advised her to break up with Carter to make him commit. We don’t find out until the end who that is, and it took me by surprise.
Although, things got a little over-involved in the middle, I really liked the story. I thought Carter and Lee could have handled the situation at work better, but overall the story was quite entertaining. For a quick read with really hot sex, it's a definite.
