Meet Gincy,
Clare, and Danielle. They are three strangers that have rented a run
down house
on Martha’s
Vineyard
for the summer. Each of them has their own reason for wanting to escape
what is
going on in their lives. They are all dramatically different, yet the
three of
them will find out that in friendships, opposites do attract, and that
sometimes you just have to take a chance.
Gincy isn’t
your average vacationer at Martha’s Vineyard. She’s a little
unconventional, a little street
smart, and a lot independent. She doesn’t care much for her family and
has yet
to have a serious boyfriend. Her casual attitude about sex has kept her
from
lacking for affection from the various men that have come and gone in
her life.
She has never really had good girlfriends and has issues with letting
anyone
get too close, so when she begins to develop a good friendship with
Clare and
Danielle, she starts to feel a little panicked about her life in
general.
Especially her love life. Why, when she has never wanted a serious
relationship
with anyone is she falling in love with Rick, a single father? A single
dad who
is a widower is surely not a good prospect for learning the ropes of
attachment? The very idea of being near his five-year-old son makes her
stomach
clench. Might Rick and his son be able
to teach Gincy a thing or two about relationships that will have her
rethinking
her single days?
Clare is
engaged to Win, the man that she has dated for ten years. She should be
ecstatic. She has a monstrous rock on her finger, a fiancé that
seems to care
for her, and the wedding of the year to plan. So why is she feeling
less than
thrilled? She decides to rent the house in the Vineyard to get away
from Win
and his overbearing ways for a while. For goodness sake, she is hardly
allowed
to even think for herself, he does everything for her. So having a
summer away
from him is just what she needs, she desperately needs to get to know
herself
again. To learn what makes Clare tick. Yet what if what makes Clare
tick is not
being with Win? She only has a short time to find out before being tied
down to
Winchester Carrington III forever. She better decide quickly…
Danielle
has a perfect life. She is a fashion diva, has a good job and a
close-knit
family. The only thing that she wants that she doesn’t have is a
wealthy
husband and she is always on the lookout for that. Her high maintenance
persona
should be attracting a well-groomed, wealthy, professional Jewish man.
So why
is she finding herself attracted to a Protestant fisherman in the
Vineyard?
Especially when she knows that it will NEVER work? Danielle could never
settle
down with a common man. Especially one who doesn’t realize that
pampering is a
right that all women should take advantage of
One crazy
summer on the vineyard has three women re-evaluating life, as they know
it. THE
SUMMER OF US is the funny, heartwarming story about three females who
are
complete opposites that develop a close friendship that sees them
through many
ups and downs. Each of these women has issues with love and
relationships that
they will resolve thanks to the help of each other. They learn what is
important in life, and that is girlfriends, laughter, and an occasional
margarita. A sincere and touching story about love, life and
friendship.
