Lauren Townsend’s vision of murder through the eyes of the murderer brings her to the Foothills Guest Ranch. She’s hoping she can stop the murder of the beautiful woman in her vision before it can take place. She won’t go to the police this time, they wouldn’t believe her anyway. The last time she had a vision and told the police, nothing was done and she ended up the prime suspect after the murder actually took place. Even her fiancé couldn’t handle the truth, so he dumped her. When she arrives at the ranch she meets the owner, Cal Taggert, and feels an instant attraction. She can’t tell him why she’s really at the ranch so she tells him she writes erotic fiction. Can she ever trust Cal enough to tell him why she’s really there? Could he possibly be the murderer?
Cal Taggert is the owner of the Foothills Guest Ranch. It’s supposed to be a cattle ranch, but hard times have Cal opening the ranch to weekend cowboys. This is not how Cal planned to run his ranch but his choices are limited. The last thing Cal expects to turn up on his ranch is a beautiful cowgirl, who makes his blood boil and she writes erotic fiction to boot…whew, how lucky can a guy get? Cal is a tough cowboy with a soft heart…problem is he doesn’t see himself as a good person. His mother, father and ex-wife took care of making him feel like a failure. Will his insecurities keep him from the one thing that could make his life complete?
Lauren’s unwavering faith in Cal is truly what makes this story so touching. She has every reason to doubt him, but she sees deep inside the man and realizes just how incredible he is. Bring in a secondary cast that complete the story superbly, and you have a fantastic book.
Lauren’s Eyes is an extraordinary book that grabs the reader’s attention from the very first page. It’s fast paced and keeps the reader captivated until the very end. The characters are real and bond to you like glue. Norah Wilson is the new kid on the block who writes like she been around forever. She won the Dorchester/Romantic Time “New Voice in Romance” award for this book and in my opinion, it is well deserved. If you miss Lauren’s Eyes, you will miss a real treasure.
