In a change of style for Tina St. John, HEART OF THE HUNTER takes readers into the unknown world of Anavrin, a magic kingdom that has remained a secret from mortals for centuries. But now, thanks to a princess falling in love with a mortal man, Anavrin is threatened. Their sacred cup has been shattered into 4 pieces, and has disappeared to become legend -- or fairy tale -- to the
people hearing the story from the only mortal ever to know of Anavrin.
In this first of a 4 part series, HEART OF THE HUNTER follows the story of Lady Ariana of Clairmont, who is on a quest to find her kidnapped brother Kenrick.
Unbeknownst to her, Kenrick has been studying the legend of the chalice and now has papers wanted by many, as he's come very close to uncovering the secret of one of the 4 pieces.
On the docks of London, Ariana runs into trouble, her guard killed in a fight and herself alone and in danger. To her rescue comes the unwilling Braedon le Chasseur -- aka The Hunter. Perpetually on the run from the evil he knows will never stop chasing him, Braedon comes to realize that his past and Ariana's present have become one and the same, and without his help she has no chance to survive. He also knows that the information she carries to her brothers kidnappers, in the wrong hands, would be a disaster -- and he's the only one who can prevent it.
In a classic battle of good vs evil, Ariana and Braedon are thrown into the chase of their lives.
Tina St. John's first paranormal novel is an exciting, surprising story that is sure to please. Using the strength she's shown in her previous historical works, the author has blended the
wondrous world of Anavrin into her setting of 1275 London with marvelous results.
The next 2 installments of this series are due in the spring and fall of 2005 with the final
installment tba. I'll be waiting.
