As the last of his line,
Lionel must take a mate and produce
cubs to carry on his family name. Yet
even in the haven of Unicorn Valley, a safe
place for magical creatures of all kinds, Lionel cannot find a
gryphoness who
incites his passions. After discussing
the matter with his foster mother, Lionel vows to mate with Teema, a
werewolf
sorceress, even though mating outside his species goes against all his
principles. Yet Teema demands more than
he’s willing to give as she wants more than just his body, she wants
his heart
as well.
Once
again, Ms. Austin has dazzled me with her creativity.
Her previous book with Changeling was a
contemporary with a twist. Unicorn
Valley: Gryphon’s
Heart
is pure fantasy with a
deliciously real world that you can almost see and hear around you as
you
read. This is a very well developed
world, so that even though you only see a slice of it in this volume,
you know
there’s more to explore with other characters.
Lionel is a very alpha, alpha male who more than
meets his match in
Teema. Teema, herself, is an alpha
female in her own right who refuses to take Lionel on just because he
demands
her to. She makes him work for her,
forcing him to grow and see his own faults and blind-spots. The sparks fly from the moment these two are
on the page together and never stop even as the last page is reached. I can’t wait for the next book in the series
to be released.
