TWICE BLESSED by Sharon Gillenwater

Hoping for a new start in life, Camille Dupree decides to join her friends in Willow Grove, Texas. Her best friend’s husband, Nate, has offered her a job as a professional card dealer in his saloon. But soon after arriving in Willow Grove, Camille discovers that Nate and Bonnie really don’t want her working in the saloon. They hoped she’d find an upright man and marry so she’d stay in the area.

Tyler McKinnon is the acting mayor and a thriving businessman with a Midas touch. Even though he knows Camille is a professional card dealer, he talks her into buying into the town newspaper and becoming a businesswoman instead. Camille is grateful to give up her less than respectful past and start over in this new place.

But as a relationship begins to develop between Ty and Camille, things start to go wrong. Camille’s past rides into town on a stage coach, and everything she’s worked so hard for is threatened. What will happen if the real truth about her disreputable past comes to light? Will Ty be able to forgive her and bend his principles enough to pardon her?

Twice Blessed is an adorable sweet romance set in the wild west where gunfights are the norm and even women carry concealed weapons. It is well-written, drawing the reader instantly into the storyline. Tyler is an awesome hero, sweet and loving to most, yet strong enough to stand on his own two feet and fight for what he believes in. Camille is seeking for answers, hoping for love and acceptance, but afraid that with her past no moral man will ever want to be seen with her. Even though she falls in love with Ty she knows she isn’t good enough for him. The reader will come to sympathize with her.

I was trying to read two books at once, keeping one in the car to read at the beach, and the other in the house, but Twice Blessed quickly won out and I had to finish it. The story is quick-paced and the reader will be blessed by it. Pick up Twice Blessed and you won’t be disappointed.
