Dorothy from Kansas Meets
the Wizard of X is the story of one
woman’s journey
out of her somewhat small, conservative Christian way of thinking to a
more
modern mindset. It is the story of the
author’s journey along the fringes of the American Pornography industry
and the
stories of the people she meets there, as guided by Eric Edwards.
This book had a lot of
potential,
but is now a piece of history. Much of
the material is about a decade out of date, yet is still interesting to
read. Ms. Alexander attempted to update
everyone with an author’s foreword and an afterward catching the reader
up with
the people mentioned in the book. Still,
the slight difference from what is known now about the industry and the
material as presented was enough to throw this reader out of the story. Still, as a piece of history and a story for
the time, it’s wonderfully written.
