Olivia Montgomery hates her new reporting assignment: living the 40 Days to Good Health program. She thrives on junk food and no exercise just fine, thank you very much. But, she reluctantly agrees and drives to the fitness gurus’ place to begin the program.
Tyson Bailey is totally focused on his career. His nutrition/exercise program is responsible for the weight loss of thousands and spreading like wildfire. He agrees to have a reporter come to do his program but is not prepared for what happens to his heart when she shows up. He has no time or interest for romance – but something draws him to the quirky woman.
Olivia is a free spirit and speaks her mind. She let’s the handsome fitness freak no exactly how she feels about the program. She thinks he’s mighty handsome, but she’s interviewed plenty of handsome airheads and figures he’s just another. When Olivia receives roses at the spa, her reaction is not the usual squeals and awe’s flower deliveries usually illicit and Tyson chalks it up to her odd personality. When she divulges the story behind her reaction Tyson admits she has every reason to be afraid.
As events progress, Olivia withdraws and begins to doubt everything about everyone around her – even trusted cameramen. She has to trust someone, though. She can’t go through this ordeal alone. Will Tyson be the one person she can turn to?
Can Tyson put aside his business to protect this woman he is falling for? Will Olivia run out of time before his decision is made?
What a wonderful book The Waiting Is. I was immediately endeared to the characters and the plot is engaging, original and intriguing. The writing is a little choppy at times, but it doesn’t detract from the story. I highly recommend The Waiting for engaging characters, a fresh story and a unique blend of humor and suspense.
