Successful Atlanta attorney, Cade Bryson, is a workaholic. He spends more time away from home, and justifies it by saying he’s doing it for the good of his family. However, his family; wife Rachael and daughter, Sarah, would much rather he helps the family by spending more time with them. When family occasions pass by without his attendance, Cade feels guilty and truly wants to do better, but he is soon lost in the web of work, again.
Finally Rachael gives him an ultimatum. Just around the same time she does, a sexy woman begins appearing ‘coincidentally’, and Cade is tempted. Good friends Eric and Philip are eager to give him advice.
Ten years earlier in England, Cade unearthed reports from two devils (written in a manner similar to C.S. Lewis’s book The Screwtape Letters,) in a dark unforgotten corner of a college library in Oxford, England. Cade planned to publish them, but in his quest for the good life, the reports are forgotten, although safe, on a disc in an friend’s house. Circumstance and events eventually lead Cade on a frantic race to England where his future and the future of those he loves are in jeopardy.
On route, Cade begins to see events in his life having a direct tie to the reports he had found. And, worst of all, his faith in God has grown shaking. Cade has no idea what the future hold – will he be able to determine who holds the future? God? The Devil? Will he be able to stop events that could doom mankind?
Cade’s venture ends with a climatic confrontation between Cade and the two demons that have tormented him – Foulheart and Soulbane.
This book takes over where Soulbane Stratagem left off. (Haven’t read it, got to get it!) Both are based on C.S. Lewis’s book: Screwtape Letters which tells the story of two demons doing the devils work here on earth. Their work is to engage in spiritual warfare with humans, in ways humans would never think of. The demons hate God, and will do anything ANYTHING to keep God’s children (us) far from him.
I read the Screwtape Letters many years ago, and the image of demons in the most unsuspecting places has always stuck with me. Now, The Soulbane Illusion has again, brought the subject of spiritual warfare close to home. The Bible clearly talks about spiritual warfare and the fact that devil is on the prowl seeking who He will devour. And, that our battle here on earth is not with flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:12
I highly recommend Soulbane Illusion. Make sure you read it with the lights on. You still might not be able to see who is in the room with you, but you’ll feel safer. For a goose-bump erupting, suspense-filled journey, pick up your copy today.
