Colette
can’t believe it when her father loses her in a poker game to Lord
Philippe de
Valon. She’s never even met the man, how
could she feel comfortable moving into his home? She
is only eighteen and very innocent, having
never been exposed to Court and the ways of the world. Luckily
for her, Philippe assigns her to be
his crotchety old aunt’s companion, saving her from her fears of having
to be his companion. She is just
starting to feel comfortable in his home when she and Brigitte, her
maid, have
to escort his aunt to his other residence, as Philippe’s time at Court
his
finished. They are traveling by carriage when they are overtaken by two
bandits. Colette and Brigitte are stolen and forced against their wills
to stay
with these horrible men. They manage to escape their unfortunate
situation and
return to Lord Philippe. Now, Colette is right where she wants to be,
but her
harsh treatment by her kidnappers has made her very hesitant in the
ways of
love. However, Philippe will have none of her excuses or her
hesitations; he is
intent on having her. He knows just what he has to do; he will seduce
her into
being his, forever and always.
THE
SEDUCTION OF COLETTE is a wonderful story of a young woman coming of
age and
finding herself in spite of horrendous circumstances. Beware, this
story is not
for the faint of heart, it contains a graphic, brutal rape. However, the good outweighs the bad. Philippe
and Colette share a beautiful relationship. In many ways, he is her
savior and
helps her to overcome her horrid upbringing and the trauma she has
suffered. In turn, she teaches him about
love and
affection. There is a secondary romance between Adrian, an employee of
Philippe’s that proves in this case, love heals all wounds. It is a
story of
second chances, love, laughter, and romance complete with a historic
setting.
