Mari
Chandler is living a peaceful life as a lingerie shop owner in
Charlotte, North Carolina.
No one knows that three years earlier Mari was
Alicia Ashley-Brooks a
secret agent for an international agency.
She almost lost her life after her cover was blown
during an
assignment. The agency created her new
identity,
changed her looks, her voice and everything about her to keep her safe. In doing so, Mari’s would be dead to all the
people who knew her. That meant she could
have no further contact with her fiancé Reid Morgan. With her business a success, Mari decides she
needs to get away for a few days. She
books a flight to the Mexican resort where she and Reid fell in love
and were
so happy.
Reid Morgan
never got over losing Alicia. When the
agency advised him of her death, he was devastated and he tried to
forget her
by throwing himself into his work. After
three years, the memories and pain are still as fresh as if it happened
yesterday. In desperate need of a
vacation, Reid heads to Mexico, the very place he
proposed to
Alicia three years ago. When Reid
meets
Mari, he can’t understand the attraction…she’s not his usual blonde
bombshell. He feels a connection to her
that he can’t shake.
I loved the
storyline of A PERILOUS AFFAIR. It was
very intriguing and suspenseful, which is exactly the kind of book I
look
for. I did have a slight problem with
the numerous POV changes, but overall I really liked the story. Reid and Mari/Alicia share a love that
transcends time and a complete identity change.
I was cheering for this couple and hoping they would
get their HEA.
Linda
Wisdom is a seasoned writer, but this is the first time I’ve had an
opportunity
to read her. I will definitely look for
her work in the future and I would recommend A PERILOUS AFFAIR to
romance
readers everywhere.
