Libby Crowne Vandermark is the only daughter in a family full of men who think because she’s a woman she can’t handle her part of the family’s business. Libby rebels and joins the FBI to prove herself to her father and three brothers. Libby avoids contact with fellow agent Michael Mucahy and his bad attitude. Libby thinks Michael doesn’t like her because she was responsible for getting his partner transferred. She doesn’t realize Michael’s avoidance is due to his burning desire for her.
Michael Mulcahy has just been handed a dangerous assignment. It’s dangerous because he’s been teamed with Libby Vandermark, a woman he’s tried his best to steer clear of. Michael has a powerful itch that only Libby can scratch, but he knows from past experience that he doesn’t mix with spoiled, rich girls. Could he be wrong about Libby?
Michael and Libby soon find out that playing married keeps them too intimate and they will have to find a way to ease the ache left from all the close encounters. In addition, the assignment turns out to be different than first expected and Michael and Libby find themselves uncovering a sex ring…not good for two people trying to keep their hands off each other. Michael sends mixed signals and Libby sends them right back. Can these two find a way to stay focused without spontaneously combusting?
Could two people be more PERFECTLY INCOMPATIBLE? I think not. Libby and Michael are great together…they just have to get through the bad times. I really like this couple and Kathryn Anne Dubois turns 127 pages into a complete story with unforgettable characters. Get it, read it, love it!
