Shawn is
not satisfied sexually in his marriage. Hillary, his wife, is a
religious
fanatic who refuses to engage in any sexual activity, is obsessed with
her dog,
Cranberry and the women from her church. Her temper is atrocious and it
takes
little to nothing to set her off. When Shawn buys a mysterious chair
from their
church auction, he suddenly has a renewed lease on life. The chair
seems to
have brought in a sexual spirit that indulges in having sex with him.
He now
doesn’t seem to mind Hillary and her ridiculous idiosyncrasies. It only
stands
to reason that Hillary should find a way to take away his happiness
with this
issue as well. Little does she know, she is about to make a big
mistake, and
she will pay dearly.
NOCTURNIQUE
is a sensual short story that is very erotic, but I wouldn’t consider a
horror
story. Shawn is a character that all readers will feel sorry for,
because his marriage
is so miserable. His wife takes pleasure in depriving him of all
pleasures.
When he begins the sexual relationship with the mysterious invisible
female, it
is a forbidden pleasure. Shawn finds inner peace and satisfaction from
their
foray into the forbidden. From that point on, nothing Hillary says or
does can
affect him.
