Lili Alster is in desperate need of a man, but not for the reasons you may think. Her family is getting together for a vacation and they expect to meet the fiancé she’s told them so much about. Only Lili doesn’t really have a fiancé, she lied to her family so they would leave her alone about her non-existent love life. Lili isn’t looking for a romantic relationship. Harold Kessler is working as an escort for Love Match so he can finish school and start a new career as a massage therapist. Hal, his ex-wife and best friend were business partners. When his ex-wife and best friend ran off together, they took their part of the business and successfully sued Hal for his part. With nothing left in his life or bank account, Hal decided on a career change. He’s working for Love Match to stay afloat while attending classes, but things aren’t going well. To say Hal’s a klutz is an understatement. He can’t walk without stumbling and he’ll knock over anything that’s sitting or standing. Hal’s told he has a client and his continued employment depends on the success of this job. Can he make a go of his escort services?
Lili and Hal actually meet accidentally when Hal knocks her down and steps all over her the same day they are to meet and set up Hal’s escort duties. When Lili realizes Hal is the same guy that totaled her earlier, she wonders if she made the right choice. Lili’s family is very receptive of Hal, until he accidentally gives Lili a black eye. Lili soon realizes there’s more to Hal than meets the eye…he’s a good-looking sincere guy and she finds she’s really attracted to him. Can Lili and Hal truly have a love match or will they be too stubborn to see what’s right in front of them?
Mixed signals, hilarious antics, an off-the wall family and sizzling tension make LOVE MATCH a truly pleasing story. Megan Hart has created a host of secondary characters that will keep you in stitches…from Lili’s wonderful Bubbe to her nieces and nephews. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it to any romance reader.
