Solara, second faerie princess of D’Naath, is bound to wed Braedon, the King of Greenbriar. Like her sister Noele before her, who had married the northern King Garick, Solara’s marriage to the southern King will strengthen the boundary protection of her faerie kingdom. Unlike Noele, her union with King Braedon would not be one of love. Her heart was stolen away by Roarke, King Garick’s protector. From the moment she saw him at Noele’s wedding and for six months since, thoughts of Roarke consumed her.
Roarke, too, felt a connection with Solara from the first time he greeted her in the elfin custom of touching foreheads. A blazing fire of awareness had shot through him then, but he knew that her destiny would lay with another man, a man he would never be, a king. No matter how hard he tries to deny his ever increasing passion for Solara, nothing but making her his will quench this all consuming fire that burns in him.
When Fate and two conniving sisters conspire against destiny, Solara and Roarke are left to their own defenses against each other, defenses that won’t take much to break through. Can true love break through the walls of honor and duty?
Jaci Burton is on fire with her KISMET stories, and FIERY FATE is the second in the series. The story of Solara and Roarke’s forbidden love is the focus of the book and makes this about more than just steamy sex scenes. Just the same, FIERY FATE is certainly not lacking in those. The words alone are a fantastic story, but the artistry of the cover only serves to enhance Ms. Burton’s fantasy world. Kismet means fate, and I foresee that reading FIERY FATE is your destiny.
