For some time now,
private investigator Emelio Sanchez had been receiving a series of
extremely provocative letters signed simply, ‘Yours, in black lace’.
Naturally he’s very intrigued! Concurrently, he’s also attracted to
Stephanie ‘Stevie’ Madison, a beautiful, competent colleague. But Emelio
keeps his distance from her as a bitterly learnt lesson has taught him
the value of never mixing duty and pleasure. Stevie, who’d long lusted
after her gorgeous and much-in-demand-with-the-ladies boss, had taken to
writing the salacious black lace letters, hoping to at long last attract
his attention.
When a dangerous
mafia man decides to revenge himself on Emelio by targeting Stevie,
their life turns into a Bond movie as the two of them race from hideout
to hideout, keeping just one step ahead of a highly capable and dogged
adversary. The danger, adrenaline and sudden privacy makes them lose
inhibitions and before long, the fantasies in the black lace letters are
being acted out. But in order to have a relationship, they both have to
overcome painful secretive scars from their individual pasts. Is searing
lust the only thing they have in common or is there something more
brewing?
Mia Zachary’s sexy,
striking saga is an impeccably dishy blend of tender romance, red-hot
passion and non-stop suspense. With a slick plot, plenty of fast-paced
action and fascinatingly flawed characters, the breathless narrative has
a James Bond movie style look and feel to it. Stevie inspires and
entertains with her kick-ass sass as well as her courage to rise above
an abusive relationship. While Emelio, with his deep sense of
responsibility and a hidden tender side, is equally intriguing. Their
journey from distant colleagues to ardent and considerate lovers isn’t
just highly erotic but also very sensitive and natural. All in all,
“Yours in Black Lace” will, without a doubt, make a place for itself in,
not just the keeper shelf but also in the readers’ collective hearts.
