Handsome,
rich and powerful, Steve Macmillan just wants to get away from it all. He wanted a nice stress-free weekend with no
responsibilities. The last thing he
expected was a woman in stilettos needing a ride… or the obsession that
she
causes in him.
Unconventional
defines Alexandra Houston’s life. She’s
an exotic dancer by night and a college student by day.
Normally ready for anything, she’s definitely
not prepared for meeting the man of her dreams.
Shattered
is a difficult book to read. It expects
a lot of suspension of belief on the part of the reader as well as
having
primary characters who are difficult, if not impossible, to connect
with. However, the book does show this new
author’s
potential. Ms. Monroe has an unusual
ability to fully describe her scenes so that the reader can almost
visualize
the action. This is especially noticeable
in the more sensual scenes in the story.
I hope that in the future, Ms. Monroe will be able
to continue such
visual feasts while doing some additional character development to
create a
balanced story.
