Savannah Alexander has had nightmares forever it seems. When she was nine years old, the terror of her dreams sent her fleeing the safety of her grandparent’s home, mindless and frightened, and right into the rescuing arms of her cousin’s friend, Tommy. At fifteen, the dreams still haunted her. And now, thirteen years later, the nightmares are with her again. Savannah can only assume that the recurrence has been brought on by the recent death of her grandmother.
The evil voice that calls to her from her nightmares haunts her sleep almost nightly. She no longer enjoys the peaceful release of slumber, but dreads it with an intense terror. And now, worse still, she is beginning to have hallucinations during her waking moments! Unsure of her own sanity, Savannah decides to take up the suggestion of her friend Lizzie. She decides to take a vacation from her work of restoring rare antiquities for the New York Museum.
But her sabbatical turns out to be anything but serene. Her life becomes increasingly complicated as she is again thrown together with Tommy – only now he’s Dr. Tom Patterson and he comes with plenty of baggage, not to mention a precocious daughter.
Savannah also meets Jackson Zeuch, the physical manifestation of her nightmare’s villain – and he is every bit as evil in real life. Savannah has no other choice but to search for the answers to the haunting dreams and mysterious blackouts that afflict her.
Who is this Jackson Zeuch? Why does his dream counterpart haunt her nightmares? Why does he call her Selena while she sleeps? And can Dr. Tom Patterson, her long-ago rescuer, help her sort through the confusing mess that her life has become – before it is too late?
As usual, Susanne Marie Knight has created a highly unusual tale with a very unique storyline. Past Indiscretions takes readers on an adventure through time, to a place that is cloaked in myth and hidden in the fog of legend. A place that scholars of the modern world still debate – Atlantis.
Ms. Knight’s abundant imagination has gifted this novel with plenty of twists and turns, mythical marvels and intriguing characters. This romance crosses the genre lines with a daring blend of the classic elements of romance, fantastical adventures of the paranormal variety and elusive elements of suspense. Reader’s who appreciate an enigmatic, quixotic read will enjoy unraveling the mysteries of Past Indiscretions.
