Hazel
Crenshaw is placed in protective custody when she is the only one who
can
identify a serial killer. The night she
saw the killer, she was standing on the street corner after her
boyfriend
dropped her off after their fight. The
killer had approached her in his car, but she refused to get in when he
made an
obscene gesture, which ended up saving her life. Mistaken
for a prostitute by the police who
were working undercover in the area, Hazel meets Detective Lee Wade. In the days that follow she is fired from her
job, deals with a sexual attraction to Lee that she can’t ignore, and a
serial
killer hell-bent on making sure she doesn’t talk, Hazel’s life is
changed
forever. Can Hazel protect her heart
form her protector?
Detective
Lee Wade knows it’s a bad idea to become involved with a witness, but
that
doesn’t stop him from being attracted to Hazel Crenshaw.
He is determined to get the killer strangling
women and will protect Hazel at all costs.
But can he use Hazel to get his killer and keep her
safe at the same time? While Lee protects
Hazel, who will protect
his heart from Hazel and her little girl?
Irene Estep
has to be one of my favourite romantic suspense authors and Overprotected
just proves why she
is one of the best! Lee and Hazel’s
feelings for each other are woven splendidly among the suspense and
danger. While reading Overprotected,
the reader can
literally feel the killer’s shadow over the story.
The killer gave me chills and I definitely
wouldn’t care to meet him on any street.
Ms. Estep keeps her reader on the edge of their
seat, hanging on every
word and surprising us with twists every now and again.
Overprotected is a great read to
snuggle up in a
warm blanket with and surrender to some fast-paced drama, romance and
danger. Definitely a must read for any
romantic suspense fans.
