After carefully preparing her escape, Catherine McNale manages to sneak out of the castle. Sean Duncan is doing everything that he can to delay is arrival to meet his destiny. He is willing to do his duty to ensure his family's well-being and certainly adding the lands of his betrothed to his own would prove to be extremely advantageous. However, he does not like what he has heard about her: a woman so thin that she barely resembles a woman … not something to look forward to.
After sending his retinue ahead of him, Sean sits at his campfire lost in his own thoughts. As he thinks about what is to come, he notices a horse approaching. To his surprise, the rider turns out to be an unconscious female and he is not sure if she is asleep, drunk or hurt, so he decides to find out.
Dream Knight is Lois Bonde's second title for Ellora's Cave. Since this title is a short story, there is not a lot of room for plot or character development. However, it does accomplish the purpose of providing the reader a quick, arousing, and romantic read. The storyline is somewhat predictable, but it doesn't make the ending any less joyous and enjoyable. I must admit that there is a part that made me raise an eyebrow in disbelief. I will not give details as I don't want to spoil the story for anyone. Other than that, this short story certainly delivers as an arousing "quickie". If you fancy instant gratification, believe in love at first lust, and like historical erotic romance reads with a nice happily-ever-after ending, you may want to give Dream Knight a try.
