Destiny Cartwright
was the middle triplet, but she was the last one to figure out her
psychic destiny. Disheartened, but determined to figure out her future,
she retreated to the lighthouse on her brother-in-law’s property for
answers. But when she cast a circle, she was surprised when three ghosts
appeared.
To get away from
the stress of his family and friends, Morgan Jarvis retreated to the
lighthouse he spent his summers in as a child. In the middle of the
night, he heard a noise and went to investigate. Only to be beaned on
the head by the last woman he wanted to see, the devilishly sexy Destiny
Cartwright. He needed the time alone to build up walls between them
after one hot kiss that rocked his world. After years of celibacy, he
didn’t think he could keep his hands to himself if she stayed, so he
needed to find a way to get her to leave.
They were complete
opposites. She was a witch, he was a paranormal debunker. With the
ghosts help, Destiny quickly learned the heartbreaking truth about
Morgan’s past. In order to move forward, she needed to force him to
confront those painful memories. As they spent more time together, they
fall under the romantic spell of the island. But when their love’s
tested, Morgan has to make the choice to believe in Destiny or risk
losing her forever.
The interaction
and chemistry between the characters really drew me into the story. The
sexual tension made the pages steam. Unfortunately, the plot didn’t
capture my attention, and there are a couple of points throughout the
novel I couldn’t understand the characters reasoning. The ending felt
rushed and the conflict that popped up felt contrived and added as an
afterthought. The first two books really drew me to the series, but the
weak plot in the third novel didn’t carry the promise of the first two
books.
