Paranormal Romance

 ** REVIEWERS CHOICE AWARD **

When they found a child wandering in the middle of a field, no one knew what to do or expect, so she ended up in state care. Lee Ross grew up unwanted, moving from foster home to foster home. The only thing she couldn’t outrun was her dreams. More and more frequently, she would wake with unexplained injuries, bruises, and a strange yearning for a lost world and the man she left behind.

As war ravished his land and his people become overwhelmed, Kalen Brenner tried to patiently wait for Lee to join the battle. She’s the key to victory, he just doesn’t know how. But the battles were becoming more vicious, the costs to survive higher than they could pay. If he can’t convince Lee to stay in his world, his homeland would be destroyed, his people enslaved –that was if they survived at all. The others rely on him for their survival, but the answers lie with Lee. Kalen has no choice but to force Lee to his side or risk their future.

Reality crashed around Lee when she’s pulled into a strange world with little memory of the warrior they believe her to be other than vague dreams. But when her past was awakened, no one could be more shocked than her. Now in order to save the people she’s come to respect and love, she must give up her future with them or watch them die.

I absolutely loved the world Shiloh Walker built for Through the Veil. The story is unusual and had me eagerly turning the pages to find out more. The romance doesn’t jump out at you, but is woven in the story until you find yourself cheering for both Lee and Kalen. The emotions, the romance, the tension built on each page so effortlessly, I can’t help admire the skillful writing. I will definitely be looking for Mrs. Walker’s next book.
