Nightmares have
ruled Lara Calladine’s life since before she could remember. To save her
sanity, she’s determined to find if she had any family left then close
the doors on her past permanently. To conquer her terror and find the
truth, Lara returned to the land of her birth. But her nightmares proved
to be very real and threatened to pull her back under.
Nicolas De Lailah
Cruz returned to the Carpathian Mountains to warn their prince of danger
then seek the sun and end his lonely existence. Only the tempting sight
of Lara seduced Nicolas into doing something he never believed he was
capable - take blood from an unwilling person. Lara yanked him away from
the brink with one look, one touch, with one delicious taste. Now he’s
determined to bind her to him any way possible.
Feared being held
captive by the dominating Nicolas, Lara did everything in her power to
escape his tight hold. Thank goodness for his arrogance, otherwise, she
would be putty in his hands. But as her past threatens the Carpathian
people and their future, Lara must rely on Nicolas for help or become
trapped by her nightmares.
Christine Feehan
has a way to make her stories come alive through her wonderful
description and imaginary. This book is no exception and hooked me from
page one. I really like the characters and their built-in conflicts.
Their seduction of each other is not easy or quick and makes it all the
more believable. Unfortunately, this book seemed to concentrate on a lot
of issues when I would like to focus on Lara and Nicolas journey. This
might be because there was no physical villain to fight. Overall, I
enjoyed this book in the Dark Series and look forward to Mrs. Feehan’s
next novel.
