Rescue Me is an anthology all about, you guessed it, people who need
rescuing. The title is pretty straight forward as is the book. All of
the stories revolve around women needing to be rescued and the hot,
spicy romance and sex they can have with their rescuers.
Story 1- Tropical Heat by Cherry Adair
When Beth Goodall is kidnapped in
Africa
there’s only one man who can save her from the evil that lurks. Sam
Pelton, a local teacher, comes to her aid for a harrowing tale of crime
lords in the African jungle.
This
story was a lot of sex and not so much the tale. It was interesting, but
not very heavy on adventure. If you enjoy a good erotic thriller you
would like it. It was at some times over the top for me and I wish the
author would have put as much effort into the story as she did into the
steamy sex scenes.
Story 2- Atlanta Heat by Lora Leigh
Macey Marsh is a Navy SEAL who has always been enamored with Emerson
Delaney, the goddaughter of his Admiral in the Navy. When Emerson is
kidnapped in retaliation for the Admiral’s decisions, Marsh is sent in
to rescue and protect her until she is out of harms way.
This
story held my attention with different twists and turns. The story was
heavy on the erotic images and also added some romance into the mix.
Story 3- Desert Heat by Cindy Gerard
Assistant DA, Elena Martinez and Detective, Seth King set off on a
scavenger hunt for charity. What they don’t know is they are both being
watched and followed. Crime doesn’t take a day off in this tale of love,
adventure and rescue.
This
story was absolutely fantastic. It was interesting and didn’t just jump
right into sex; there was actually something behind it. The tale of
adventure, sex and romance was spun nicely and captivates the reader. I
had to read this tale all in one night, I couldn’t put it down.
Rescue Me was an exciting read with a lot of sex. Although each of the
stories was slightly different, the first two back to back was a bit
much. They were too much alike, which made it a bit redundant. The last
story by far was my favorite and I would be interested to read more of
Cindy Gerard’s work.
