Annalise Blakely
is carrying lots of emotional baggage. Her father, who only shows up on
her birthday, takes an extra step on this, her thirtieth birthday, and
invites her to meet his new family, but she hasn’t forgiven him for a
lifetime of perceived neglect. His new family has other ideas.
Annalise’s teenaged stepbrother is dying to meet his big sister and
takes it upon himself to butt into his big sister’s life, worming his
way into her heart. Along with that, Annalise finds herself strongly
attracted to Tyler King, the cop her best friend fixed her up with. A
serial killer begins a spree, dressing his victims as the dolls that
Annalise sells while he builds up to his ultimate kill, Annalise.
Tyler King is a homicide detective, chasing a serial killer. Struggling
to find a common thread between the victims, he is unaware of the link
to his new girlfriend. The murders are tailored after the collectible
dolls she designs and sells.
Every Move You Make follows Annalise as she turns a corner in her life
letting go of the past. As she develops a bond with her newfound
brother, her relationship with her father follows on. This, in turn,
opens her heart to accept an adult relationship for the first time in
her life. The reader watches the serial killer’s twisted psyche as he
gets closer to his ultimate doll, Annalise, and the array of suspects
which get eliminated one by one lead to an entertaining, triumphant
conclusion. While I found the author’s writing style a little clumsy, I
was able to forgive that in favor of an excellent story line. Well
plotted and constructed, I would recommend this book.
