Inspirational Contemporary

Dr. Rachel Donovan hears her biological clock ticking loud and fast!  It seems everywhere she goes all she hears about is someone getting married or having a baby.  Then when Norma, her secretary calls her to come sneak a peek at who's sitting her in waiting room she can't resist.  Low and behold it's Jack Westwood, the rodeo star, and his mom, Alma, who's been trying to get Rachel as her daughter-in-law.

When the mayor, Ron, comes to see her as a patient Rachel finds a spider bite on his knee that requires a trip to the hospital.  Ron won't go willingly as he's been working on the centennial celebration and knows it won't get done without him there.  Refusing to go to the hospital until Rachel agrees to take his place, she reluctantly concedes.  Little does she know what she's in for.    When Rachel arrives at the meeting she finds only Alma and Jack with Alma quickly ducking out to check on Ron.

Rachel is shaded against cowboys in general.  After all as a chiropractor how could planning a rodeo be safe for the town or the people participating.  So she starts fighting Jack on all the details.

Then Rachel's niece, Jennifer shows up at her door everything takes a turn for the unexpected.  Rachel must decide whether to confront her past or try to keep hiding her biggest secret.

This is the second in the "Pinky Promise Sisterhood Series" and was an enjoyable read.  The book just flowed perfectly.  In the beginning you could start to see the set up and thought you knew exactly where it was all going, but you are in for a surprise!  For me the character of Rachel progressed and grew through the book and you just wanted to cheer her on for her improvements.  Anyone who wants a book you can't put down should go find this book!
