1902 - Blessing,
North Dakota
Grace Knutson
loved everything about her town of Blessing. She had her life figured
out. She knew exactly what she wanted to do, that is until she met
Jonathan Gould.
Jonathan has come
to the Knutson farm by his father’s hand. Jonathan born and raised in
the city has no idea what farm life is like and is not happy with his
father. His father wants him to learn the value of hard, manual labor.
He surprises himself and everyone else by realizing he actually likes
working from sunup to sundown. It does not hurt to have Grace show him
the ropes along the way.
Grace and Jonathan
get along rather well, considering Grace is deaf. She has learned to
adapt to her surroundings in unusual ways. Grace decides to go back to
the city with Jonathan and see what city life is like. Jonathan’s
mother doe not think Grace is right for him and makes it crystal clear
to Grace. Despite this Grace does not let this get her down. Could he
be the one, or is his affection being clouded by Grace’s broken heart?
The third book in
the Daughters of Blessing is a wonderful read. It’s filled with young
love, hope, and dreams. It was wonderful to read how Grace could adapt
herself in any situation in spite of her being deaf.
