Amy Johnson,
single mother of one, had given up her dreams a long time ago. But when
a spot with the Minneapolis symphony becomes available, Amy decides to
take a chance and audition for the part. Much to her surprise the part
becomes hers.
The symphony
itself was in disarray. With rumors flying around, members not getting
along and mystery sabotage on the loose, Amy, always one for a mystery,
begins a covert investigation of her own. Unfortunately, while doing so,
someone begins to point the finger directly at her.
Meanwhile, Clara,
the daughter to whom she has always shared everything and who has shared
everything with her, has begun to branch out on her own. First
cheerleading and now a new church, Amy begins to feel like she is losing
her daughter day by day and gaining loneliness minute by minute.
SYMPHONY of
SECRETS by Sharon Hinck was entertaining and kept you guessing. I loved
the great relationship between mother and daughter and also seeing and
feeling the separation between the two. Behind the humor there was
definitely a serious tone to the book. Sharon Hick is an awesome author
and I would recommend all of her books to anyone, anytime.
