Being born with a
special ability guaranteed Saber Wynter life would never be normal.
Adopted by a company, Saber lived in a facility for the gifted where
they made her a glorified lab rat. They trained her gifts to be used in
covert operations that left her sanity in taters. She knew she had to
leave or end up like the others –dead. On the run, Saber took shelter in
a small town and met wheelchair bound Jess Calhoun. Only the secrets she
took with her would guarantee they would never let her leave
peacefully.
As one of the
secretive ghostwalkers, Jess Calhoun led a double life. To the people
around town, he owned and operated a radio station. To the government,
he was one of the elite Special Forces now being hunted for their
genetically enhanced talents. The day he opened the door to the petite
Saber was the day his life changed forever.
But before either
could move forward with the future, they must make sure that the past
won’t come back to haunt them. A stalker has set his sites on Saber. Was
he a psycho off the streets or was he sent by the corporation that
wanted them both dead? Determined to protect her, willing to do any and
everything to keep her safe, Jess recruited his team – even if it meant
losing Saber's trust and ultimately her love.
This is another
fantastic story by Christine Feehan. The tension rocketed from page one
and kept building until the very end. The yearning between Jess and
Saber was almost tangible and very heart-wrenching. The wonderful
setting and an understated adventure really matched the characters and
made this fantastic story a must read. The emotions from both characters
tugged at me, making ‘Predatory Game’ come alive. If you’ve enjoyed the
Ghostwalker series, make sure you don’t miss this latest edition.
