Toni Rodden is
relieved to leave her former life behind. Not that it’s always far from
her. There is always one person or another reminding her of what she
used to be. Fortunately for Toni, God promised her a new life,
forgiveness and a new beginning. Only, Toni didn’t know it yet.
Now while
traveling on the wagon train, Toni begins to think about her future and
starts preparing for a lonely life when reaching her destination.
Watching happy couples and marriages come alive on the wagon trail
doesn’t help matters much either. Because for Toni, knowing that her
former life and happiness with a husband will never come to past, always
leaves her bitter, angry and apart from everyone else that tries to get
close to her.
Sam Two-Feathers
desperately wants Toni to feel God’s unconditional love and comfort.
Knowing that his feelings for her have crossed the line, Sam
deliberately avoids interaction for her and protects her from a
distance. Soon Sam learns that no matter what he thinks or values is not
always what another does, which in turn gives Sam the confidence to
trust God totally and completely with his heart and his desires.
DISTANT HEART, by
Tracie Peterson is a book that most readers can relate to. The lessons
learned contain how God can take a person’s past, wipe the slate clean,
and begin to give them a new hope and beginning for their life.
Although, like in the book, there will be people who will ridicule you,
condemn you and put you down, Mrs. Peterson revels how God is not only a
loving God, but also a forgiving one, a rescuer and most the God of our
salvation.
