Lawyer Ty Buchanan
has a great life, good job, and a wonderful fiancée Jacqueline Dwyer.
Everything seems to go swimmingly, until the horrible news that his
fiancé has been killed comes. A convicted killer apparently killed
himself on a highway overpass just as Jacqueline’s car passed underneath
the overpass, lands on her car and instantly kills her.
That’s the story.
And then, a
wanderer/street person approaches Ty at Jacqueline’s funeral and says he
has proof that Jacqueline’s death wasn’t so ‘instant’. He will gladly
give up the information for a certain sum of money.
It’s not a tidy
easy venture into the dark places where the information leads Ty, but he
is driven to uncover the truth. Is it worth dying for??
James Scott Bell
ventures into new territory with this genre and his first offering is
wonderful! The characters are real and the settings intriguing and
dangerous. There doesn’t seem to be an overt Christian message, but
there is a sense of hope.
As a long time
James Scott Bell fan, I welcome this new branch of his stellar
storytelling.
