With America on
the brink of war with England, meeting Lord Phillip Southvale and
accepting his proposal the very next day was the last thing Lady
Rosalind Carberry had expected to do. Many people in society came to
accept their betrothal and suspected that it was for political reasons,
but in fact it was for reasons far more interesting than that-it was for
love.
As their impending
wedding came near, situations began to arrive which ultimately caused
Phillip and Rosalind to push back their wedding and have their wedding
in London instead of America. Well after Phillip was called away,
Rosalind and her family started preparing for the London wedding when
Rosalind’s mother injured her leg and her wedding plans were push back
yet again. Soon, secretly, Rosalind began making plans to go to Phillip
herself.
Unfortunately, not
all was well when Rosalind finally arrives in London and on Lord
Southvale’s doorstop. To begin with, Rosalind is shocked to learn that
Phillip’s family which includes his sister, Katherine and his
great-aunt, Lady Eleanor has not been told of his proposal to her. To
further her amazement, she also is told in very rude terms by Phillips
brother in law Gerald, that she in no way can replace Lord Southvale’s
first wife, Lady Celia, whom died in a tragic sea accident.
THE SECOND LADY
OFF SOUTHVALE by Sandra Heath will keep you begging for more! Ms. Heath
draws you into the story, has you rooting for the victim, getting angry
at the villain and praying for the best. This book is highly
recommended for those who love a superbly written romance.
