Sofia Hunyara is
from a famous family of wolf tamers, although she doesn’t know it. In a
very short time, Jason Cage, a vampire with incredible psychic
abilities, has to make her understand who she is. Sofia doesn’t believe
blindly, but deep down she knows that what Jason is saying is true. Her
past has forced her ability to comprehend the truth way too deep.
But Jason is her
bondmate, something neither of them can really deny. Soon his world of
vampires and werefolk will open up to her, to need her and she’ll have
to embrace her legacy. But Jason has to keep her alive and make her
understand his world before it’s too late.
PRIMAL DESIRES
started out a bit confusing, with many characters, several locations and
bouncing back and forth between them. It’s the second in a series, so I
sorted all this out and took a bit of time to figure the rules for the
society, which includes both werefolk and vampires and the strict and
different rules they live by. After that I sat back to thoroughly enjoy
the story. Sofia was a strong person who needed a catalyst like Jason
to challenge her and make her embrace what she was, and Jason needed
Sofia to finally make his years of battle worth while. They were a joy
to get to know, with their passion and humor.
That only lasted
about three quarters of the way through the book though. At that point
the book became a rushed and jumbled finale of two story lines, one that
had been worked on through the book that deserved more, and the other a
worth-while but last minute sub-plot that was under-developed. It was a
disappointing ending to a book built in a really fabulous world that I
wanted to spend more time in.
