As organized and
controlled as Laurie Hale’s life was, nothing could prepare her for the
trail that was to come. Her daughter Anna and son Tim were the model
Christian kids. Her husband Collin was always steadfast, cool and
collected. But never did Laurie imagine that all of them would soon
endure the test of their lives.
While taking her
morning jog, Laurie stumbles upon a horrific sight. A body of a girl
lying under the Sequanna Bridge, totally void of life. Struggling to
catch her breath, Laurie runs home and calls 911. Her cousin, Nick, who
is a county detective, responds to the call. As Nick begins to
investigate the incident, he soon realizes that what at first seemed
like an accident has turned into murder.
The girl, Randi,
otherwise known in school as poser, leaves behind a mother Tanya, who
realizes that all she has left to hang on is her faith. Soon Tanya along
with Laurie and others in the small town would come to know the true
meaning of honesty and forgiveness among friends and family.
OVER HER HEAD, by
Shelley Bates was a suspenseful nail biting read. I was eager to turn to
the next page just to find out the whodunit. I loved the role of the
mother Laurie, and how real and raw her emotions got concerning her
daughter Anna who was one of the suspects in the murder. This book will
leave you with the knowledge that God’s truth always prevails.
