Susannah Garland
is without funds and she is also madly in love with her cousin, Miles
Devereux. Miles needs to marry into wealth. When Susannah fears her
Uncle will harm her, she runs away to London. The only skill she has
learned is sewing. While employed at a house of fashion, her skills are
in high demand.
She sees her
cousin on a chance encounter and realizes she is still in love with
him. As he is married, he offers to put her up as his mistress.
Susannah is mortified, she will not ever agree to that arrangement. She
has also met Sir Jeffrey Stratton; he does not like the Devereux
family. To put a wedge between Susannah and Miles, Jeffrey offers to
financially back Susannah so she can start her own house of fashion.
Can Susannah find true love without having strings attached?
This is a bitter
sweet love story with graceful characters. Fans of London society and
all the starch that comes with it will enjoy Fashion’s Lady.
