Lady Sydney
Hathwell grieved her father’s death for a long period of time before she
felt that she was ready to fulfill his wishes. Now that she had traveled
to America and met Mr. Hume she felt that she had fully carried through
what her father had wanted. Only now she had to figure out how to
finagle out of marrying him.
With her Aunt
Serena’s help, Lady Sydney finally manages to flee Mr. Hume’s residency
under the disguise of a man. Hoping that she can pass for a upper class
gentleman long enough to arrive at her uncle’s house and wait an
additional couple of months until he arrives, Sydney propels full force
into her new
role.
Unfortunately, the
only problem she didn’t expect was that “Big Tim” Creighton would be
waiting for her at her uncle’s ranch. Not only did he have the audacity
to give her the nickname, “Fancy Pants”, but he promises her that he
would whip her into shape before her uncle arrives. Under the disguise
of “Syd” Lady Sydney’s bright idea finally comes to a head when her
manly actions are suddenly forgotten, leaving her vulnerable and found
out.
FANCY PANTS by
Cathy Marie Hake was a comical and light hearted read. I thoroughly
enjoyed the humor that was played out based on a little error! I
couldn’t wait to see the transformation and the reactions behind it. Ms.
Hake did not disappoint. The romance that stemmed from the unveiling was
just as satisfying. High recommendations for this author!
