Tabitha Brockman
found herself a good thing when she landed herself a job on one of the
most popular daytime soaps, "Legacy of Life”. Enjoying the life of a
celebrity, not worrying about money was just a couple of the benefits of
her job. Suddenly, through a case of mistaken mishaps, Tabitha finds her
character killed off and her own self unemployed.
Having to downgrade her living status by acquiring her 2 best friends as
roommates, Tabitha starts a menial job at a children’s bookstore where
she has to endure wearing costumes and hearing snide remarks from
immature employees. Since Tabitha and children are not a good mix, it’s
no surprise that she is fired quickly.
In the midst of all of Tabitha's circumstances, she becomes a Christian.
Sometime after that Tabitha's character on "Legacy of Life" has come
back to life and Tabitha is rehired. Tabitha then begins to wonder what
God's plan is for her and begins to wonder if being a soap star is what
God wants. Meanwhile a gorgeous man in the studio has caught her eye and
the only thing that seems to stop a relationship from blooming is a
jealous rival and his kids.
CATCH A RISING STAR by Tracey Bateman was refreshing! Funny, witty, and
full of brutal honesty, this book has got it all. I would definitely
recommend this book to everyone. I am sure that everyone can relate to
the down to earth character Ms. Bateman has created in Tabitha.
