Jennifer Carman
ended her engagement, recently lost her grandmother and been passed over
for promotion. It was too much. She was tired of being overlooked and
ignored. It was time it stopped. With the help of her best friend,
Jennifer dresses in an outfit meant to kill and headed out to a bar to
relax and take what she wanted. But once inside, no one really grabbed
her interest. That was until Robert Marshall entered the bar. That man
had all the bells and whistles that made her sit up and take notice.
Working up her
nerve, Jennifer finally walked over to his table and sat down. And the
first thing out of her mouth was a lie. Once she started, she couldn’t
seem to stop. But as the heat in his eyes touched her body, she didn’t
care. When a one night stand turned into more, the lies came back to
haunt her. As the relationship deepened, the foundations started to
shake. Now, before her world crumbles, Jennifer or should we say
Jasmine, has to find a way to tell the truth without loosing her new
found confidence or the man she has come to love.
This story started
off slow, but the main characters really pulled me into the book. The
main plot is the romance. Although most of the conflict could have been
settled if they sat down and talked, part of the charm of this book is
the journey they took to understand themselves and each other. I
couldn’t help enjoy how Jennifer dug herself deeper and deeper with each
lie. Without all the lies and secrets, I don’t think this couple would
have fallen in love. If you like sweet romances and enjoy reading people
fall in love, don’t miss ‘When She was Bad’.
