TAKE ME TONIGHT is
part of the Bullet Catchers series. It features Lucy’s niece Sage,
whose roommate is killed, throwing Sage into an investigation of her
death that may result in her own.
Keisha died after
experiencing a fake kidnapping through a company who supplied thrills.
But Keisha’s kidnapping apparently never happened, leaving Sage to find
out just what did happen. Lucy knows her niece, and she knows that this
case is trouble, so she assigns Bullet Catcher Johnny Christiano to keep
an eye on Sage without her knowledge. When they acknowledge their
attraction to each other, Johnny realizes his dilemma –Sage doesn’t know
who he really is, and to tell her causes some huge problems. So their
relationship is based on lies, but he can’t help how he feels.
As they get closer
to the truth about Keisha’s death, Sage is in terrible danger, and this
time it’s going to be a stretch for even a Bullet Catcher to save the
day.
TAKE ME TONIGHT is
a gripping suspense. Sage and Johnny are intense, strong-willed people
whose chemistry will keep you reading. You needn’t have read other
Bullet Catcher stories to follow this one, although it probably would
help with the history of the company.
But, the idea of
the fake kidnappings and the women blindly going along with them was
uncomfortable to say the least, and I must say it dulled the excitement
of the story. That said, the writing was aggressive, fast-paced and
clever and I suspect the shadow I feel over the book was simply the
subject matter.
